What the service covers

### What Is Audio Post-production?

Audio post-production is the editing, cleaning, balancing and final preparation of previously recorded sound. It may include removing unwanted noise, assembling dialogue, blending music and effects, adjusting dynamics, synchronising speech and exporting masters to a delivery specification.

Unlike voice-over recording or dubbing itself, audio post-production concentrates on what happens **after the recordings are available**. New recording and translation can be arranged separately.

Modular services

Delivery specifications

### Loudness Standards & Audio Quality Requirements

We deliver audio post-production to the applicable broadcast, streaming or client delivery standard. We measure programme loudness and true peak using ITU-R BS.1770-5 and follow EBU R 128, ATSC A/85 or other applicable platform specifications as required. Every commissioned master is checked against its agreed loudness target, true-peak ceiling, channel layout, format and metadata requirements before delivery.

- [EBU R 128 (version 5.0, 2023)](https://tech.ebu.ch/publications/r128) — European broadcast loudness, including the −23 LUFS reference for its defined application.

Deliverables

### What You Receive

#### Final Audio Master

Agreed mono or stereo format with the specified sample rate, bit depth and delivery naming.

#### Dialogue / Music / Effects Stems

Separate stems where supported by source recordings or approved project sessions. Flattened audio may not be separable cleanly.

#### QC Documentation

When requested, a summary of measured loudness, true peaks, channel configuration, file properties and identified issues.

**Formats:** WAV/BWF and compressed delivery copies as required. 5.1, ADM, Dolby Atmos and other immersive or multichannel delivery must be separately assessed for technical feasibility and specialist support.

Prepare your brief

### What Files and Information Do We Need?

Provide your content type, approximate duration, languages, destination platform and available source materials: raw audio, dialogue tracks, music and effects stems or M&E, reference video, approved scripts and the client's technical delivery specification.

Restoration and source separation depend on recording quality and rights to the material. We assess feasibility before committing to a particular outcome.

Frequently asked questions

### Audio Post-production FAQs

Editing arranges and cleans recordings. Mixing balances dialogue, music and effects. Mastering prepares the approved mix to meet delivery requirements.

Some noise, hum and clicks can be reduced, but severe clipping, missing speech or heavy background masking cannot always be repaired without audible side effects.

Yes, subject to rights and project scope. We can assess timing, audible artefacts, levels and language accuracy with appropriate human review.

Yes, where suitable dialogue and licensed music-and-effects elements are available. Additional reconstruction may require a separate technical assessment.

We use the target agreed for the broadcaster, streaming platform, podcast distributor or client. There is no single correct LUFS value for every programme.

Surround, ADM and immersive masters require separate confirmation of equipment, engineering capability, source assets and format requirements; they are not part of the standard offer.

Where source tracks or an editable mix session exist, separate stems can be quoted. A single stereo master does not guarantee clean voice, music and effects separation.

The agreed checks may cover listening, sync, clicks, clipping, loudness, true peaks, channel mapping, duration, metadata, file format and, if ordered, linguistic consistency.
